DEAERATOR
DEAERATOR IS USED FOR OMITTING CORROSIVE GASES SPECIALLY OXYGEN AND DIOXIDE CARBON FROM FEED WATER OF STEAM BOILERS. SEPARATION OF OXYGEN AND FREE DIOXIDE CARBON, PREVENTS THE CORROSION OF TUBES, PUMPS, BODY OF STEAM BOILERS AND FLUID VAPOR RETURN LINES. DEAERATOR MAY FUNCTION IN ATMOSPHERIC VACUUM CONDITION OR UNDER PRESSURE. NORMALLY VAPOR AND WATER ENTER INTO TOWER OF DEAERATOR NOT IN THE SAME DIRECTION. MUCH OF THE STEAM BECOMES LIQUID DUE TO HEAT EXCHANGE. THE WATER IS HEATED AND BY REDUCTION OF SOLUBILITY OF GASES IN WATER, CORROSIVE GASES ARE TRANSFERRED TO STEAM PHASE AND TOGETHER WITH APPROX. 2% OF INPUT STEAM, EXITS FROM THE TOP OF THE TOWER OF DEAERATOR. THE TRIVIAL LOW PRESSURE OF GASES IN STEAM PHASE IS CONSIDERED ANOTHER ELEMENT FOR TRANSFERRING THE GASES FROM LIQUID TO STEAM. AN OFFSHOOT OF THE STEAM ENTER A POROUS TUBE IN THE LOWER PART OF POWER SUPPLY. THE STEAM BLOWN IN THE WATER EJECTS DISSOLVED GASES AND CARBON DIOXIDE PRODUCED FROM THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF BICARBONATES.
